Very proud of my two kids. 24 yo daughter graduated with a four year nursing degree from Gonzaga and is a public health nurse for the city of Boston, paying minimal loans off while paying into a pension and 457(k). 21 year old son is a senior in the same nursing program and has plans to make some major discovery or improvement for mankind in the healthcare or biology fields. Both are avid hikers and back packers.

Whenever someone brings up the millennial argument, I just remind them that they had to have learned their work ethic and morals from someone, that being their parents
I fall into the Millennial class as well but I disagree with this statement. My Mom married 4 times throughout my life. My real Dad hates me because I'm the wrong sex, he always wanted a girl. I haven't seen or spoken to him in 22 years. The next husband sexually abused me for 3 years. It took breaking into his bedroom and stealing the pictures he took of us and showing them to my mom to get out of that situation. Husband number 3 physically abused me for 9 years. I was beat with everything from 2x4's, bricks, to even a ladder one time. I stripped naked several times to show my mom the bruises and it still took 9 years to get out.
I moved out into a shit hole mobile home when I was two weeks shy of 17 to get away from my mom and start controlling my own life. I have been on my own ever since. Now I own a house, have a fantastic wife and two kids, three cars, a camper, two bikes, a four wheeler, and I manage a tire warehouse that belongs to a 250 million dollar a year company. I am also a Captain on a local fire Dept.
I hate hearing people say that "Bobby" is bad at his job because his dad was in jail, or he didn't know his dad, or whatever excuse so he had a hard childhood. That's bullshit.
All it takes is the will to be better, the drive to do what it takes to be better, and mindset to keep reaching higher once you hit your original goal. Fact of the matter is, most Millennials just don't possess this.

Oh my, the humanity. I seriously think this "millenial" complaining is out of hand.
Last time I went to Autozone I was on my bike and bought 1 bottle of spray detailer and the guy behind the counter had the nerve to offer me a bag.

Glad to see you got past the adversity and made something of yourself. In my mind, people who persevere and succeed are the real role models.
Congratulations.

I like the twits that say, "hey, nice bike" and you have your helmet in hand and ordering some food and then they ask, "is that for here or to go?" How many people have you seen trying to eat a hamburger while riding on a motorcycle?

I get food to go on my bike all the time. Tastes better sitting in a park, or at home. Just get canned soda for the park.

I've lived long enough on this earth to see one thing that happens all too often... way too many people find way too much insignificant BULL SHIT to bitch piss and moan about.
Im honored to call a "millenial" Cody a friend. He just manages his own industrial Napa store, in his mid 20's. Wife, now 2 kids, owns his home. He has a great Mom but not a great life growing up. Been wrecked, damn near killed and still has a better work ethic than I do Chris, BigRigme, I've had the pleasure to meet, eat and drink with. Couldnt ask for a better role model from a "millenial". 75Kona, I hope to meet the man some day, not because of what he has but because of how he gets what he has, by hard work and determination.
I CHOOSE to see the glass half full; and SEE these kinds of people I just described and just "FIDO" the rest. Not worth wasting my breath at this age bitching about something I cant do anything to change.
just my 1/2 pennies worth,
Rod

I'm in my late 50's, and there is no shortage of idiots in my age group as well. Actually, you don't have to look too hard to find plenty in all age groups.
