Will 2 R*s Fit? 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Guys, I need some advice.

A friend and I are going to look at 2 R*s tomorrow. We're going to rent a 5'x 9' trailer with low sides, and a fold up ramp.

Can anybody say with any degree of certainty if we can get two R*s in such a trailer???

It looks kinda doable to me.

OR, I can get a full size Chevy or Ford van... will 2 R*s fit inside one of those???

I know they will fit cause I trailered mine with a friends bike on that size trailer. We backed in on and the other straight on to facilitate the straps with the tie down hooks on his trailer. We backed up to a rise in the driveway and the ramp was about level to back mine on. Hope that helps.

Back one, and front load the other, so they face opposite direction, correct?

Awesome, thanks!

Will let you know how we make out!

Not wanting to be contradictory here, but I don't know how you ever got two R*s on a 5 by 9 trailer!!! I have a 5x10 I hauled my bike to Blackhills on. Next year I was going to take my sons and my Roadstar to Co. I had to get a 77 inch wide and 10ft long to get them to fit... I still had to take the inside bags off to keep them from rubbing, and loosen the mirrors and turn them in. I would like to see two on a five foot wide trailer!

In my 5x12 with low sides, I can put one bike in and an ATV, but two bikes--no way. If you could lift some parts of the bike to move it sideways, then maybe, but you can't lift any of these bikes. A van? Faggetit.

If you're renting, why rent such a small trailer?

Uhauls are cheap enough for the correct size.

My thoughts exactly.
6' x 12' with a ramp rent for about $20/day:

This looks like about a 5 x 8 trailer. I'd be more concerned with safety than fit.

If you use a pair of really solid stands like a Condor securely bolted to the trailer floor it should work.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

Thanks for all the help, guys. That's why I love this place so much! Sure gonna miss it!

The 5 x 9 was the largest locally available Friday evening, for Saturday morning... but, like I said, we woke up to an ice covering, and where we were headed was worse, so we cancelled.

Will we try to set it up for later... Don't know yet. I've got much to do, and little time to do that.

The 5 x 9 was $25 or $26... and a 6 x 12, well, we were towing with an old 4-cyl Tacoma! That would be somewhat challenging!

I think we'll just go look... if it's a buy, ask if they'll hold 'til a warm day, then get a lift up there, and ride 'em back!
