Those are all at a pretty big loss to the dealership unless they jack them back up with dealer fees (setup, prep, dealer freight, decrating, destination, doc, etc).

"Cash Price Only"

Is that to deter credit card yahoos? Or are we talking real green cash, and this bike disappears off the books?

If they don't register the bike's warranty when sold they won't get the current year-end incentives to the dealer. That would raise the price on a new Roadstar by a whole lot of cash folding money.

Very few dealers will take ANY credit cards for payment unless it says Yamaha Card on it. A regular CC costs the dealer something like 3% (AmEx is something like 4~5%) of the total transaction so we don't take CC/debit cards for bikes. Plus if you dispute a CC purchase the dealer has to wait until it's resolved to get the money for the purchase. In the mean time Yamaha still wants their money for a bike you can't show is on your property so they demand full payment right now. Credit card sales aren't worth the hassle for the dealer on a bike - way too much risk and cost involved.

FYI: The only thing a cash payment eliminates is a lien fee to the state, maybe $10. Cash also has to be physically carried to the bank too and once it's more than $10,000 there's more paperwork to fill out when we get there. So in the real world offering a dealer CASH doesn't get you much, if any, of a discount. The easiest & cheapest payments dealers handle are factory financing. No deposit, no paperwork outside the store, fast payment & virtually no risk to the dealer.

what a sweet deal. I mean I paid more for my used 2007 (well that was in 2012..) and with 400 miles its still more than this deal!
But the dollar tax would kill it at 88 cents on the dollar per USA dollar for us Canuks.

I bought my new 2013 Road Star a few months back at a dealer here in Northern Indiana for $7999 . Of course it had sales tax on the difference of my trade in plus freight and dealer assembly, but still to good a deal to pass up. I had my eyes on getting a new Victory Cross Roads but I couldn`t make myself part with the money. After the fact I think I made the right choice now, no regrets.
