FI, Duals, No AIS, No Fuel Processor? 4 Years, 3 Months ago
I have a 2008 FI with no AIS and K&N in the stock box. Thinking of installing Freedom True Dual Racing pipes/mufflers with the cool black tips and NOT installing a fuel processor. Who's done this or similar with or without a fuel processor and why? Processor problems or not? If a processor, which would work best and be easiest to set-up without a dyno? The Cobra fi2000? Others? None at all? Cheers.

Do the freedom true duals have O2 bosses or not? I'm running a K&N universal filter in place of the factory airbox and V&H Big Shots, no tune. I bought a PCIII but never could quite get the tuning right, always had a flat spot and just abandoned it. The FI system seems to be able to adjust just fine (attested to by about 65,000 km of trouble-free running, spark plug colour is good, good economy). If there aren't bosses for O2 sensors, you'll need some form of tune to make sure the bike keeps running right.

From what I understand the Freedom Duals are the only ones currently available with O2 ports already in them.

V&H Big Shots do. (Or did in 08 when I bought them.)

Most of the members with FI bikes are running aftermarket pipes and air filters without a fuel processor. I don't think anyone has had any luck with the Power Commander processors. If you really feel you need a processor, the Cobra FI2000 Power Pro does work fine on my bike.

I have an 09 no ais, freedom duals, big air kit and no processor. Tried to run a PC-IV but it caused the bike to surge at stay throttle settings since that's when the O2 sensors would be working. Not a single problem with the stock computer adjusting.

Mine is a 2009, no AIS, aftermarket mufflers, K&n air filter,Inovate AFR. No out of bounds readings on the AFR, good plug readings after two years.

I have ran it with a BAK with the same results, but I put the original air box back on with a K&N filter because of the intake noise it made.

+1 on no added brain box. I am considering better coils & wires, after reading about the stock ones leaking energy.

No AIS, K&N Oval, Drilled out Stock exhaust... 46.8 MPG!!

My Bike WANTS true duals, you lucky dog!!
