Then the platform is bolted to the same holes that secure the saddlebag bracket. That would make it secure and very stable. The only thing we would have to work on is the arm rest, chest straps, hip straps, and straps for his feet on the passenger floorboards. Plus making sure that Travis is able to use the floorboards with the jegs seat. If not modify the jegs seat so that he's able to. The center of gravity will be all screwed up. Let alone with a person sitting in it just compounds the weight of the bike. By weight I do not mean the bike cant handle it or any of that. The way the bike will feel coming out of and into a corner. It will feel heavy. I know board dragging is out of the question but there will be a significant handling decrease. I have used spurs to hold feet in floor boards before. Just replace the leather strap and buckle with a velcro strap in order to break away. The spurs are easily mounted to the passenger boards and is discreet to the real function. They post weight @ 37lbs. That could be shipping weight. What do you guys guess Travis weights ? Depending on John's weight, I don't think we'll be in a overweight situation. Also, I don't believe they plan on riding on the highway /cross country. No heavier than a massive luggage box with armrests, speakers, etc. I can't see how there will be a significant amount of weigh up high. The bike should be able to handle the laden weight. The extra weight as in a longer lever to try and stand up out of a slow speed corner. Speeds above 12mph. Why 12mph? That is the average speed where you have to lean the bike to turn instead of turning the bars left to actually turn left. Any slower and you lose the gyroscopic effect. When you lean into a turn with added weight, not including Travis. You may have to muscle the bike back upright. Its the weight above the "stock backrest" Yes, any passenger is well above the backrest as none extend to the head of the passenger. Whoever fab's the mounting bracket I'm sure will have the sense to mount the seat as low as possible Also, how much could the backrest of the seat weigh ? Those that know how my wife & I travel will tell you, our Roadie is loaded up more than I'm guessing John's/ Travis's bike will be.
