How much is it? Never mind, I see 199.
Nooo, you can do it much cheaper.

The Pingel petcock is nice, but not a necessity. Been pumpless 2 1/2 years on the stock petcock with no problems. Get the Grizzly valve, vent the gas cap, re-route a new section of fuel line and remove the little screen at the carb inlet. Maybe cost you $10.00.

The difficult part is finding a home for the Enricher Knob if you want to get rid of the Pump Bracket and Cover. I still need to do something with mine yet.

When I did mine, I vented the cap ( Search the clinic here to find out how to vent it) and bought a foot of 5/16 gas hose.
I changed out the needle and seat with a higher flow one.
Yamaha Grizzly needle valve 2C6-14190-30-00
You can find these on EBay or your OEM parts place.
Good luck.

My bad forgot all about that part (enrichener assembly) What many(myself included) have done is use a Yamaha V-Star 650 (any year model) choke bracket and re-locate it under the seat, using the rear gas tank mounting bolt to fasten it. No lengthening of the stock cable is required. Not sure what that bracket would run you new from Yamaha. Got mine at a M/C salvage yard for $10.00. I noticed the Maxair Kit didn't address this problem in their "everything you need" kit. And the part about the Road Star fuel pump being the "most common problem" is just pure bullshit. There are plenty of guys on here riding 1999 models with the stock fuel pump still operable. Very few people on here have went pumpless because of pump failure. The most common problem on Road Stars is the fuel gauge and the speedometer not working / intermittently working.

The enricher mount is easy to make and that is what I did mounted in stock location but a little higher up.

Thanks FPOB! Just ordered a used one off of eBay for $7.00 shipped. Just need to paint it and mount it. Was going to make one, but why, now.
