I hate you.

From what I remember, there was a fix for the fly by wire issue, that supposedly made it more user friendly. That was a couple of years ago. Something to do with tweaking the electronics. This is the Internet, so I don't how much was accurate, and I didn't fully understand what they were talking about at the time, other then it was supposed to have helped.
I thought they sounded really great as well. Some people just like stuff to be louder.

It really is a great looking scoot.

I love the Indian line of bikes. I know that there are some that don't. That is a great looking bike. One day I hope to have that or a Chieftain. thebru wrote:
Hey folks!!! Well I said I would be back with my thoughts on my 2016 Indian Vintage. I've put over 1000 miles on it now so I feel I have enough knowledge to be dangerous.
To me the styling is as iconic Americana as there is. I show pics of the bike to people who really aren't bike savvy and they all say "Wow, you got an Indian!". There are other models that aren't as vintage looking but this is what I remember as a kid...
Ergonomics---The bike starts off better than the R*. I did a lot of work on the comfort level on the R* so the Indian isn't quite as comfy, but it's pretty good straight out of the crate.
Drivetrain--- 6 speed is NICE!! Tranny feels very solid. The engine is 111ci and has 119 ft lbs torque. MAN IT PULLS!! I can literally take a turn at 20mph and stay in 4th gear with no problem. It tachs at 2650rpm at 75mph. It's very smooth but not without feel. The pipes are by far the best sounding stock pipes I have ever heard. Not going to replace them. The engine has it's unique noises which are taking me a bit to get used to, but that is very subjective. It's a very large, pushrod, air cooled v-twin so I don't expect it to sound like a Wing. IMO, there are two types of bike--those you simply ride(Wing, VTX, Voyager..) and those that are part of the ride(HD, R*, Guzzi...). This is definitely the latter and I like that. Also, IMO, metric engines feel more "refined" than Americans. Not saying that has anything to do with quality, just American engines tend to feel more brutish, bigger balls.
Physical Ride---It's a very large, heavy bike with a wheel base I think is longer than the R*, so the ride is xclnt. Good handling. Very very solid an the road.
The toughest thing to get used to is the throttle by wire-it's just weird! No petcock scares an old timer like me also.
Overall---It's beautiful. The looks and the ride are great. People stop and check it out every where I go. The dealer has been great. After 11 years and many mods I do miss my R*, but that is fading. Hopefully this bike will prove to be as good...
I also miss this forum. I have joined an Indian forum but there isn't a lot of info yet. Kinda reminds me of when I first joined R* Clinic. Hopefully that too will prove to be as great......

I'm posting a pic but it seems lately the forum doesn't like my pics.

You are on top of the cruiser food chain my friend. I imagine that bike will put endless smiles everytime you hit the throttle.
