I just bought a Tourmaster mesh (air) jacket and I love it. The air goes right thru the mesh but it has protected elbows lower back and shoulder. you can't even see the protective inserts just looking at it. I bought mine 2nd hand so I didn't get the liners with it for colder weather riding But then again I only paid $40 for it.

Except for the $40. ++++1 on this jacket.

sorry to veer a little off topic. Just back from a short ride. mid 80s. Not too bad. there were times if i didn't think about it, i forgot i was not comfortable. when i got back after 30 minutes, my ass was soaked and my tank top was not much better. if i had to wear it if it was much warmer, i think i'd sell the bike.
I'm 63 and retired with no one dependent on me if i get hurt or worse. when i started riding again this year i accepted the risk. full armored gear, while bettering our odds are no guarantee. i'll wear it as often as possible because i think it is smart, but i don't want to feel i'm in a sauna. guess i'm just a sissy.

Is your joe rocket jacket the mesh (net type) material?

I bought a Joe Rocket Phoenix mesh jacket a number of years ago with the removable armor, zip in and out liner etc. I wear it pretty often and consider it to be a nice quality product.

One thing I will say is mine is a 3X size. Ive had a few people ask me about it when I had it on and I suggested they try it for size when they say they would order one of those in a XL or 2XL to fit them correctly.

The one I have would never fit someone who wears a T shirt of the same size as indicated on the jacket label. It fits like a full size or size and a half smaller than you would think.

mine is the mesh type. i have to say that i seem to mind the heat more than the average person. i never ever wear jeans (too heavy). always shorts and tank tops in decent weather. when i wear long pants it's eddie bauers nylon/ spandex material. extremely light weight. so maybe most people could handle the jacket in warmer weather. i'm probably spoiled.
