Do the brackets that come with it work well?

Mine mounted with no problems at all! Make sure that you are ordering the fairing that is for your RS and everything should be fine.

It came with a 8" clear flat windshield. I ordered a 5" curved tinted later, I think it looks better. You can use a lower windshield if it is curved. The 5" curved does just as well as the 8" flat for wind deflection!

Roadie, Where did you get your saddle bag guards? Was it a easy install (bolt right on)? How much did they set you back? Thanks

The install will only take about an hour. All you need to do is run the power supply to the battery (easier if you remove the tank) and install the brackets (four bolts) Then slide the fairing on and your set. I use either a MP3 player or smart phone. If you connect the phone or MP3 player thru the jack the handle bar controls will only control the volume. When you use blue tooth either with your MP3 player or your phone you will be able to control the volume and scroll thru your music with the handle bar controls. Speakers sounds good to me, can be heard at 70 MPH no problem (I do have quite bafflers installed in my Cobra exhaust) Because you don't have the stereo installed you will have a extra large "glove box" in the center of the fairing which I like. I have had a lot of compliments on how good it fits the Road Star! I also really like that it is a one piece unit.

Thanks for the in-tel!!!.....I like the idea of the extra storage up front, less weight without the stereo, and with the clear window you can use your phone as a gps!....Again thanks!
