This kind of post is a forum killer. I've seen it happen elsewhere. Someone, who seems to feel that they are the designated ? of the forum, attacks and degrades others opinions and feelings can and will drive away other members of the forum. It would be great if there were an "ignore" function available, but since there is none I end up, by trying to catch up on new threads, reading the crap PB spewed across the screen. I guess it is like the old show business adage, "Good press or bad press, as long as you are in the paper." PB relishes in being in the spotlight. Once I find it is a thread he has started or invaded, I no longer read it. On a good note, his crap has cut my visits to this site allowing me to get back into some good books.
Just my opinion and worth just what it costs.
+1
When the forum starts to be more about drama, posting every little thing that happens in life and calling other members out for no reason.... I'm not interested
Don't get me wrong I enjoy the occasional Non bike related topic. New job, baby on the way or what have you, but this School girl crap (and that's what this thread is IMO) has no place on here.
I'll +1 Dave too,
Post in the original thread and be done with it. Don't run to the other side of the play ground and try to get everyone on your side

I call the proper method (read:what's kept me alive the past 2 decades) for metropolitan commuting "offensive/agressive. You must take command of as many situations as possible and be the decisive one. Sometimes that means just piling on the throttle and leaving a situation, and sometimes it means you stop your bike in front of a tailgater long enough for them to get out of the car looking all pissed off, then nail it and create that safe following distance you want to see. BUT, the majority of the time it is where you place yourself within your lane and in relation to other vehicles, combined with a high level of competence in operating your machine and a healthy dose of paranoia/exceptional situational awareness.
Good stuff PB.
Another good one, at least in this area. I pump the brakes just enough for the my brake light to flash. The glare pretty hard in my mirror, if need be I turn my head enough for them to notice me noticing them. There is a big enough fear of bikers around here they usually back way off. Now Im am not a bad ass I havent been in a fight since middle school and if this bluff is ever called Im not sure what I will do, but it has worked so far.
++1 to both! I am an ex sport bike rider (yes its like a drug lol) and have always rode aggressive enough to constantly get myself out of potentially dangerous situations while riding in the city. Thankfully, my commute is only 5 minutes, so no interstate or anything like that. My best riding is on sundays when I get out to the "country" and its just me and the bike alot of times. And still, I am always in command of the situation around me. YOU are your only protection out there on the road make sure you are paying attention to EVERYTHING!

I wanna add a few quick comments.
First off most here know Pobastard is an author there for he can not say/write anything that is short and to the point. He glamorizes whatever he is writing just like its an article. He has in almost ever y post I have read of his in the 9 months or so I have been here.
Secondly he does have a point most riders and or drivers thing they are always do I everything the can to prevent most accidents, they are not. And most people have a tendency to talk much tougher online. This being said Ohio was the only one there that really knows what happened. Either way it would serve Ohio and every rider good for the instance to be broken down and see if there was in fact anything Ohio foul have or should have done differently.
Thirdly no one will ever compliment Pobastard on his use of tact.
Finally come guys its the internet whim yes a bunch of people degrading someone will Chase away a lot of members from a community an off comment once in a while should not get anyone panties in a bunch. Sticks and stones people we are all claiming to be adults..............or Stevie (sorry couldn't help it)

I'll be the first to say, I stay out of the threads that don't capture my interest. Or I browse the threads for the information I need. If I don't wanna hear someone acting like a tough guy and talking about a close call, I won't open the thread titled "Close Call Today- I should have kicked his ass" Simple ass that.

One article for an e-mag does not qualify one as an "author" IMO. More so, it does not excuse the way he treats the other members of this forum in, as you state, almost every post he's written. Secondly, it's not always what he has to say, but the way he says it. I have no idea how "breaking down" Ohio's situation would benefit anyone except to serve as a venue for piling on. Third, you're right...no one will compliment him on his use of tact. In fact, it is repeatedly pointed out that he has none and is often inappropriate in his posts. He also acknowledged numerous times that he is an "asshole" (his own admission). Perhaps one who has that "quality" does not belong in a forum-based community or social media setting of this nature. And this has nothing to do with being adults...it has everything to do with respecting others and not stirring the pot simply for pot stirring sake. Finally, it's not simply a matter of a "one in awhile" comment, it's as you stated earlier...almost every post of his you're read.

I have to agree with this. He does have his group of followers, but in my opinion that's only because some of the stuff said is so dumb, its funny. I believe most of the stuff he posts is degrading and most any other forum would not tolerate it. I choose not to reply to most of his stuff simply because if you do not agree, you become a target. Not only that, unfortunately, it seems as if he gets a kick out of stirring shit up. Anyway, feel free to come vent or "whine" on the forum anytime- just be sure to do it in the non-moto topic section so I don't have to see it when Im looking for tech tips. =D

For good or bad, he did get you all wound up. Maybe that's his plan, start a discussion with an abrasive subject. As JD brought up, entertaining and very Jona-ese. Ah the good old days.
