It's official I'm a Harley convert 3 Years, 6 Months ago
Well I sold my 2004 Midnight Silverado to a friend and bought a 2012 Street Glide tonight. I'm looking forward to fuel injection, cruise, air ride suspension, a 6spd, OEM and aftermarket product support and dealer support! Wish me luck! Here are some pics of my old ride and my new one.

congrats on your new ride, Harley's are great bikes as well. Get a HD repair manual, not a cheap one. It will save you a fortune. upkeep is different on a HD. instead of changing the oil every 5k (or year) you have to change the oil, trans, and primary. Ride safe and have fun.

Good luck with the new ride! You'll definitely want to do the basic maintenance yourself, if you thought the Yamaha dealership cost was ridiculous your head will explode when you see Harley's cost. The new ride is sweet you'll love it.

No shit!👆 I paid $600 to for a rear tire installed. I was in a pinch away from home.

My fav HD model too. I would love a 2011 Sedona orange one.
Congrats!

I've owned a HD RoadKing since new in 1999 and have over 60,000 miles on it without a major glitch. But like advised earlier learn to do the up keep yourself.
I also own among others a R* and a Goldwing...now if you want to see upkeep money buy a GoldWing, it'll make that HD seem cheap.

I love Harley's, I bet you will have a blast with yours. Most of my riding pals have Harley's or want one. I guess I am a stealth Harley convert, or a closet Harley guy. <-- That sounded creepy, the closet part that is. Hard for me to convert as my wife just signed the adoption papers on my Road Star. I like soft tails and springers. Anything that looks retro or old. Pulled up to a gas station to fuel my bike. The guy next to me had 2 kids in his car with the windows rolled down. After paying for the gas and returning to the bike the 2 little girls were laughing and said hello. I replied in kind. Then one said in baby talk as they were very young, look at da motor seecycle. The other said, it's a Harwee.

If it is broke, fix it. If it is not, make it better!

Thanks guys! I plan on doing most of any work required myself. The nearest dependable Yamaha dealer from me is 75 miles away and of course they're not a dedicated Yamaha dealer so their service department is always packed with atv's and all kinds of bikes. It be nice if I ever have to take it to the dealer to know there is a good one 45 miles from me.
The abundance of OEM and aftermarket parts is just awesome with Harley.
As far as general maintenance I will pick up a service manual and do all I can myself. Hell I'm so cheap I order and change my own tires!
Really can't wait to go pick it up tomorrow!
