Question...

The hole that needs to be drilled on the relay side of the shock 13/16" center-to-center from the stock goldwing location... has anyone experimented moving that hole higher or lower to see if/how it would raise or lower the bike?
I would think it would work the same as adjustable links but , you would only get one setting. Either up or down according to where the hole was drilled. Kind of like a longer or shorter spring.

It is not enough movement to appreciably alter the geometry of the suspension. Adjustable links take more move to than you might expect to get the lowering effect most who lower are after.

I really prefer altering stock mechanics when possible. Even if it just leaves the option of going right back to stock if the need arises. I'm glad the Relay Flip is an option since everything stock remains in play. Only needed to grind about one inch further down on the Relay, at he same depth to keep the Flip and same amount of Lowering with my 'Wing shock conversion. This all new ride combined with the " Darkside " rear tire is just amazing. A totally new ride, so smooth and responsive, I feel like I'm on a 200 lb. lighter Sport bike. I have to keep reminding myself to Slow Down !!

I wonder sometimes if one of the reasons for the improved feeling we get on rear darkside tires is that they are radials instead of bias. I know the bike will lean over much more than I usually have the courage to do on purpose most of the time. With the lift of 1-2" I get, I can lean over more than with the stock size tire before dragging my floorboard. I also run a larger rear tire on the front (commonly called "double darkside", but is a bias) which doesn't seem to affect my slow or high speed turns at all.

I'm halfway through swapping in my roadwing. When I pulled my shock off I found out that the previous owner had the relay arm flipped! Who knew?! Because I've been riding it that way since I bought it, I really didn't feel like flipping the relay back to stock, so I did the necessary grinding for it to clear.

...took some off the shock itself so I wouldn't have to take as much off the relay arm

I think something was not mentioned there is that you will need a longer bolt for the rear part (the re-drilled and cut U part). The original bolt got like 0.2 inches out on the other side, I thought that's not OK, and I bought a new, longer one.
