Exhaust question 4 Years, 3 Months ago
I was wondering if anyone has or is running a set of BUB's pipes? I am wondering exactly how load they are and what the exhaust note is like. I THINK the exhaust that is on my bike right now might be a COBRA longshot but there are no markings to support that belief. They just look the most like what I have now in design, style and size. The set that I have now have full length chromed heat shields over the actual pipes and they are getting more than a bit rusty. The previous owner left the bike uncovered, outside a lot...unfortunately. The bike has a GREAT sound right now so I am considering having the shields powder coated. If I knew who actually made them, I would just contact them about new heat shields. The rear pipe exits against my leg which gets a bit warm on longer traffic stops too. It looks like most of the newer pipes are rerouted to compensate for that issue.

Then I also had a set of Bub Jug Huggers on my 07 when I sold it. They don't make the Stubbies any more. BTW the tips on the stubbies are out or down turn tips depending on how install them the came with slash cut tips.

The pair I am looking at are like long shots. Full length , straight tubes. How was the sound ? What I have now has a deep throaty sound at idle but will talk to you when you twist your wrist.

I love my stubbies and all the HD guys love them too the Jug Huggers were a little milder but they sound good. I had sound clips to them but can't find the link now. I am sure if you Google them you can find some clips.

I have Bub's Big Willy's 2-1/4" on mine. zero blueing problems because of the heat shields. shouldn't be changing colors if you're jetted correctly anyway. they are on the loud side. sharp report when you twist the loud handle. definitely not a low rumble. going with freedom 4" shortly _
