The defense is going to subpeona me for a deposition. I have been notified via phone by the state this is to take place May 6. I won't have much to say other than the sonofabitch tried to kill me. That's about it. I'm not going to answer stupid questions, and may utter words not helpful to anything about this bunch of horseshit.

I believe the justice system is fucked.

I know you're pi55ed, but don't blow your chance to hammer this dude.

Don't let them twist your words in the deposition, but be cordial and factual. If the system is going to fail, let it fail with you waving flying colors in a blaze of truth in your deposition.

Seems like your only legal recourse is going to be civil charges if this keeps going the way it's going. I'm in to see how this thing turns out, but I don't have much faith in the justice system either.

I hope they put this guy away for a long time but I have lost faith in the system as well. I had a woman steal my debit card from my wallet from my house and they had video of her using it at a store and the district attorney said there wasn't enough evidence to take it to court.

A lot of people don't realize it, but the civil part really doesn't do much. If you win you come out of there with a piece of paper that says the guy owes you money. That is it, the court has no part of enforcing the collection. I personally know of half a dozen cases of these useless pieces of paper laying around.

Or just think O.J.
The "winners" just got a piece of paper saying O.J. owed them money.
He "lost" the civil case, but big deal, he never had to pay a penny.

Yea I went in for the deposition so the case could move along. They did the deputies and defendant on May 1 I believe.

Mind you, Sept 5th when I went to the bank, next day I asked for a time stamp from the bank for my atm transaction. It was 10:33a.m.
My phone records indicate a 911 call at 10:36a.m. with a call back from me hanging up on that call at 10:38am, the one I answered. So, in the few minutes I left the bank until stopped and making the call, you can imagine how much conversation/interaction I had with that asshole behind me.

That deposition took over 2 hours, seriously, two hours to ask me questions that had nothing to do with the asshole trying to kill me. It was FAR BEYOND anything I anticipated. That defense lawyer had all kinds of stupid questions to ask me, many of which were objected to, but I had answered after the objection. He is of the same ilk as his client IMHO. To me it was a joke to have to give a deposition for the defense. It's just how it works here in FL, if you don't do it, they take you to the stand and do it in open court I guess. No big deal, the facts are obvious.

The defense had filed motions to suppress the defendants statements. The judge has yet to rule on that so far as I kn ow. I can say though, the defendant during his deposition basically stated under oath that the deputies were lying about his statements. What a fucking idiot.

This could go to trial as soon as the week of June 9th.

Glad there is SOME progress.

Keep the faith. Do your part (as you are). While the system disapoints at time, the fact that you are attentive and doing what you can will help get some final justice.

....else, as Stevie mentions we can call in Scooter.

Best wishes! Keep strong and diligent.
