Low left humming sounds like you still have the AIS on the bike. It it for emissions can be removed there is and article on how to dump that junk.

Re the sound when you lean...if your tires are worn in the middle and you have more tread on the sides, they will make noise when leaning.

Idle 850 to 950 rpm. Set when the motor is hot(not idled in the driveway fro 5 minutes, but ridden for 20 miles or so).

If the crankcase vent tube is still running to the back of the air cleaner, run it below the bike, and put a small crankcase filter on it. Plug the hole in the back of the air cleaner. Service the aircleaner if it is a K&N. They make cleaning kits for them that have spray soap, and oil for recharging them. Follow the directions, and don't over oil the filter.

As mentioned, if the AIS is still on the bike, remove it. It'll cause decel popping especially with aftermarket pipes. A bad seal where the exhaust pipes attach to the heads will also cause backfires. Use the OEM exhaust gaskets, if they need to be replaced. Revisit the torque on the exhaust nuts several times over the first week or so of riding, when the bike is cold(after setting overnight).

When you remove the vacuum line from the AIS, be sure and cap or plug the line from the AIS port on top of the intake manifold.

The top one in the picture. You have the main jet, in the parts list it is also called the main jet. So when I put them in my brain bypassed reason and placed the main jet with the opening, and the "main jet" that is closed in each others place.

Don't have a tach., but it sounds about 900ish. I set it while riding. Kept adjust the longer I rode. Its pretty nice. But the bike still feels like it has more than I'm getting from it. Low RPM wise. When I get up in rpm I get a decent pull. It could be that I was riding a bobber before and I'm used to a 350lb bike with 800cc twin. I was taking down many sport bikes with that thing. But you just kind of know when you aren't getting all she has.

Shores: I was wondering that. I do have more wear in the middle, and slightly uneven wear on the edges.

I do in deed still have the AIS on. I'm not taking it yet because I need to read up more on how to. The removal not so much as the plugging and stuff so it'll still run when I'm done.

But I keep listening and it is definitely coming from my lower left not the front. I'm leaning more towards the belt. Like the belt is rubbing something under power. Or maybe it just makes that sound when under power. my last two bikes were chain and shaft driven. This is my first belty. My fear of course is that the oil pump gear was not replaced when the trans recall was performed. I'm terrified that its the old one and any sound from that area is disheartening as from what I can tell it goes and you lose your motor before you know it.

You seem to be quite adept at double posting.

Make sure the jets you buy, are Mikuni's.
The DJ 37.5 is no bigger then the Mikuni 35.
A DJ 165 is way smaller then a Mikuni 165.
The Pilot is the tall slim jet off to the side.
The Main is the jet that holds the sleeve around the emulsion tube. It also sticks up the highest, when the carb is upside down and the bowl is removed. When the jet is removed, the sleeve can be removed.
The early starting jets on 1600's are something like a 56 or 57, and in the later years it look more like a jet that wasn't ever drilled.
What is the number on the Starting jet you have now?

Mikuni jets, will have a square in a square and an "R" stamped on them as well as the size. That is Mikuni's trademark.
