I think I Nailed It! 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
After years of fiddle farting around with the carb, trying to eliminate the carb fart on take off and sometimes stalling. I tried one more time to get this fixed. I opened the PMS 1/4T so I'm at 2 1/4T and replaced the #35 Pilot Jet with the Cobra supplied #37.5 Pilot jet. Bingo, that was the ticket for my Bike. About all I had to do was lower the Idle ( quite a bit ). I did two runs, one 60 miler and one 80 mile jaunt. Bike is running alot better, fuel mileage went from about 34-36mpg to 42-43mpg. I thought the Bike ran good before, but this is like night and day. Me a happy camper.
This is my final set up.
Stage One on OEM Exhaust 8 Holes in each Muffler
SpeedStar Air Filter
Ported and Modded Intake Manifold, took Dremal to the O-Ring Knotches to fit Thicker O-Rings MS28775-136 and sealed with Hylomar blue
PMS 2 1/4T out
Mikuni 167.5 Main Jet
Cobra Jet Needle, e-clip 4 down from blunt end
Cobra #37.5 Pilot Jet
Accelerometer Screw 3/4T in

Only took me 9 years to figger the last part out .........................

Make sure your hot idle stays around 900rpms. Just because it will idle around 650 or so when its warmed up, doesn't mean as low as it will go is fine.

Yeah, I know about the oil pump and low RPMs for the potato effect, but I appreciate the input anyway ...................

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Sounds like you paid your dues over the years fiddling with it. Now enjoy it and ride safe.
