Stock on yours as 32 tooth. You can find used steel 33 tooth pulleys around. The 65 tooth rear is a standard HD Softtail part - yours is probably 1 1/8" spec.

Cruising at 80+ was really nice with the 65 tooth pulley. Not nearly as many vibrations as with the stock 70 tooth rear. Even 85mph cruising on long trips was pretty nice. Cruising that speed with stock gearing beats the snot out of stuff in my fairing. It won't give you a better top speed. Just less RPM's on the superslab

I changed my primary 32 to a 33 and kept the rear. I love it.

For anybody running the HD 40315-94 65T pulley, did you have to install any kind of a spacer or ring? Or was it just a straight conversion> I understand that the holes need to be enlarged to fit the studs.
Thanks.

Has anyone really considered just changing the rear tire? I went to a slightly larger tire with the Austone taxi tire which geared me a little higher, plus put my speedo exactly right on (according to my gps). Some don't like car tires, I know, but it does everything I want it to and will corner better than I have nerve to do.

Thanks.
No spacer needed, just the enlarging of the holes.

Any one got a 1 1/2" 65 tooth rear pulley layin' around you would let go of ? Or a 1 1/8" 33 front that will fit my '01 ? I'm having a little problem with my 1 1/8" belt moving around a little to the inside edge of my 1 1/8" rear pulley. Had to adjust the rear 1/8" out of true alignment to get the belt more centered on the rear pulley to stop the screeching caused by rubbing the inner flange. My front pulley is still stock 33 tooth 1 1/2". It's been working great for 5,000 miles now , but for some reason started doing this inner rub thing and the screeching only happens during Decel.
