Time to bump this, seen someone have the problem that made his bike stall when clutch was released, Must of got all tangled up in there. Too bad this isn't a sticky or in the tech section. I thought I did an ok Job of explaining the fix. Sure hate to have anyone have this problem at speed.

Just checked the front pulley nut on my 05 and it was finger tight. The retaining washer kept the nut from backing off Thank goodness. I have 45k on it now. Took it off cleaned up the nut and threads reinstalledwith red locktite and torqued to 61 ft lbs. Looks like I dodged a bullet.

Great article!
Should have done a search before posting my question concerning installing a new front pulley.

Know what? I've replaced both of my front pulleys on my R*s with 31 tooth steel ones. As part of my Spring, git'r ready to ride maint., I'm gonna check both of my front pulley nuts too! No sense in foolin' around, if something could go wrong!
