me and the wife went out for dinner and a little shopping tonight. we stopped at k-mart. i went to look at automotive while she was shoppin. has anyone noticed how these stors are forcing us to buy cheap(and i mean cheap) crap!! u go down the isle, and they only stock one crappy cheap brand and thats it! u dont get freedome to pick brands anymore. for instance i was in the airfilter isle. they only carry one brand of air filters.thats it!! and i wouldnt put that brand on nothin i own!! so she decides that she wants to go to (gulp) wal-mart, which is my most hated place . so again i go to the auto section.they are even worse. go down the isle that has all the car mats and steering wheel covers and all u see is bright yellow packaging on everything! so i start looking at the back of everything and it is all made by some cheap china company! i mean the whole isle! so if u want car mats or a steering wheel cover u have no choice but to buy the cheap china bright yellow packaging company . im just so sick of hardly not being able to find decent quality crap anymore. u cant hardly find anything made in usa. it was a little more, but it was so much better quality!!! as far as tools and equipment, if it aint made in america, i dont want it!!!! harbor freight? baa!!

There are some things that I buy that I only use once or twice. I plan on going to HF to buy some straps to tie down a tractor on a trailer, if they last long enough for me to get them back to PA I will be ecstatic!!
As for the the other stores, it seems that's what Americans want, that's why they carry it, if they couldn't sell it or people wanted to buy something else, believe me, they would have it.

I tend to shop online because the stores around here never carried what I wanted to begin with, it was all these gear heads on this damn site that cost me so much money

Its called corporate America and its everywhere auto parts stores same cheap crap and I cant stand going in any of them big stores kmart/walmart ect. They have destroyed more small businesses than any economy situation ever.

Those China companys furnish my companys product and pays my wages thank you. You can blame the labor unions and the Amercan public for pricing themselves out of jobs my friends. We go to greedy!

dont get me wrong, i buy that china crap when i have to, but when i can i always try to by american. i wish more americans would too. its not that i have anything against china, but damm, cant the quality be a bit better? there are some decent quality. my wifes honda accord has been a great little car. but i will stick to my gmc 4x4. i know everybody will argue bout the gm and fords not being all american now, but they are still american companys. as for my roady, at the time i bought it, it was what i could afford. i have since fell in love with her and dont have any plans to get rid of her, but i really want to get a piece of american history, a harley ( ultra classic). dunno just ranting. im just heartbroke with the direction this country has gone

Afraid there is no backing up my friend we can't swim up stream like the fish do. At best we could try to keep it where it is but I don't that will happen. I loved it when I could buy a new American truck for $15,000 well we will never see that again Just like we won't see $1.00 a gallon gas or $.25 smokes.

I read somewhere that 93% of Walmarts stuff is manufactured in China, and the other 7% is made in the USA/Canada from Chinese parts. Don't know if its true, but I believe it.
