He says "lets git 'er done!" He doesn't want anything getting in the way of our next riding season. I've had a TURP and other than having a cath. for a few days recovery was not too bad, however sitting on the bike presses right on the area of the prostate. I was able to discountinue the flowmax right away.Let him know that his flow will be so much better. Will be peeing like a 20 year old again.My flow changed right away after surgery. Good luck, Ken Hey Ken I read your post to Toby and it cheered him up considerably. The Dr said procedure takes about an hour and was very encouraging about it. Toby hearing from someone who has had it done has been very reassuring. I was home the next day and felt so good I started chopping wood. [update 10-22-2017] 4 Months ago   Toby made it through the surgery, and the Dr said it all went very well. They let me back into recovery with him, because it was going to be a while before they could get him into a room. I spent the night in the room with him in a recliner they fetched for me, so I could see to anything he needed. Nursing staff is always short handed and over worked. The nurses were sweet enough to make sure I had meals too, they said they always have extra trays in the short stay unit. we are back at my son's, toby is comfy, and tomorrow the catheter comes out. Recovery they said will be 4 to 6 weeks before his body starts to normalize and adjust to the changes. He has been a trooper through it all.
