I can't find the recent thread about how to post pics now that we don't have photobucket anymore.

Can someone give me a simple step by step like your talking to a 4th grader? Because....well, you're talking to a 4th grader when it comes to this stuff.

What I have so far is a few pics in a new google photos account. So, how do I move one into the signature box? And, how do I add a photo into a future post?

Better make it for a 2nd grader! Go!

click on your photo in google photo to view it. Then right click the pic and choose copy image location, from the menu. Got to bitly.com and register with them, then in the create bitlink box paste the super long url from your google pic and click on create.
This will create a short url you can copy and put into your signature tag

same process to post pics, tho I think after a certain amount of hits, the link breaks.

Try www.use.com, much easier than Google. If I could figure it out on my own (I did) anyone can

i tried use.com but no luck. i'll try again. finally added a bike image to my profile using paint, but i don't think i can add pics to posts with it. hope we all figure it out cause this is a great community and even better with pics.ok, so now i have to figure out how to just post one pic.

Your welcome. Someone else on here recommended it to me so I can't take all the credit, I can't remember who it was. I was just amazed I figured out how to navigate it on my own. Took me 3 years and some tutoring to figure out photobucket, and by the time I did they took it away.

OK let's see if I can walk you through the www.use.com (which is actually www.clickover.com) process. It's a little tricky but the same and very reliable.

First let me say that hosting sites like to get credit for hosting so they usually load their process to make it so someone can click on their page or at least see their name somewhere. It's the nature of the revenue beast.

But even www.Use.com has to host their pics somewhere, as does everyone, and you can usually find the address to where a pic is hosted by right clicking over any photo and clicking on 'properties'. When you right click and then click on properties you'll see the ACTUAL page that your SINGLE PHOTO is hosted on.

Let me give you two examples. I'll load this pic of a melted fuse which was wired to my aux lights on www.use.com.

Here's the link to that: http://www.use.com/MlIh7

Let me suggest that you RIGHT CLICK over the link above and then click on 'open link in a new tab' so that you don't have to keep back-clicking to read the rest of this post. You'll have the photo in one window and this in the original. This site should do that automatically but that's for another thread.

Now if you click on the photo in that link it'll take you to the original sized photo that I uploaded, which is HYUUUGE. Notice that at the top of that page you'll see the Use.com icon. There's their website hosting credit.

But here's where we cheat.

In that first link, before you click on that photo, you instead RIGHT CLICK OVER THE PHOTO. You will be given a list of options. Click on 'Properties'. A screen will pop up. In that popup screen you'll see a line labeled 'Address (URL)'.

That address is listed as http://www.clickover.com/images/s_5/0a352e22770ab0117ca7_1.jpg

So if you mouse over that address and highlight it you can copy it and paste it in your browser address window. That address is where www.use.com (www.clickover.com) is STORING my photo for its own use.

If you paste and click on it it'll take you here: http://www.clickover.com/images/s_5/0a352e22770ab0117ca7_1.jpg

THAT is the address that you use for your signature here. It'll tell the RSC software to go to that page to look for your photo.

So now lets walk you through how to actually load YOUR photo and make this happen.

Go to www.use.com. You'll get a page that says to load your photo. Use the 'Browse' button to go into your computer and locate your actual photo. Once you find it, click 'open' and it'll be highlighted in the window.

Now you scroll down that page a bit and click on 'UPLOAD'. It'll load your pic onto the www.use.com site and take you to a new page.

Once you're on that new page you'll see several options. The first one is the one we use, labeled 'URL for email, craigslist, IM, etc.'.

You want to COPY that link.

Paste the link into your browser address window and go to that page. You'll see it just like the first photo in my example above.

Right click over that photo, click on 'Properties', and highlight and copy the address URL. You don't need to go further with that but to keep it simple you can again paste that address into your browser address window and go to that page.

THAT ADDRESS IS WHAT YOU USE FOR YOUR SIGNATURE PHOTO. If the photo doesn't show up large enough then change the pixel size in the RSC image code to 499. 499 is the max width that you'll be able to use as your signature photo.

If you need help actually using the RSC sig photo process itself let me know and I'll walk you through that as well.
