Do I rebuild the carb? 7 Years, 5 Months ago
This is a follow-up from last week's post about if my gas leak problem I was having in Alberquerque was a pukeing problem and will it leave me stranded. First, thanks to those who replied and especially, Ratl, who offered his garage and tools if need be. I finished my week of riding with the carb leaking upon shut-off on hot days. Short of going pumpless, is rebuilding the carb a "must do" on these bikes after 50,000 miles?

Are you still having the problem now that you are home? Usually, short of having a jet clog up, one you have your carb set up it should be that way forever. Float needles can wear though. Check the level in your bowl, I'll bet it is high. If you need to replace the float needle valve, go with the Grizzly. They if you do decide to go pumpless, you are already half way there.

Ask me about my attention deficit disorder or my pie or my cat. A dog. I have a bike. Do you like TV? I saw a rock. Hi.

Pull it apart clean it up check the float level and make sure the needle/seat is not worn out.
