Steve, We should ride to the strip club, fire up a fatty and discuss it!

Dammit Shores! Then where the hell am I supposed to discuss how to raise my gay dog who's into sex with squirrels?

Jaybo, I like the way you think... Pick me up on the way.

There are functions that would allow a semi-secret section, not unlike the mod's forum here.
Oh! You didn't know the mods here talk about the rest of us mortal peasants in a private section right here on the good old RSC?

Could also be setup where the trigger topics never get pushed to the sideboard.
You'd only see it if you logged into the 'other' threads.

I'm on a bike builder's board that has an 'over-18' section like that.
You know ... for posting pictures of big front tires.

Agreed. Keep scrolling if you don't like whats being talked about. When it turns into name calling and personal attacks, well, that is just immature.

I always thought Gram's first and foremost number one rule "be respectful" was good enough, plain to understand, and easy to follow.

This site has always been better than most out there, sure we have had a few fanatics on certain off topics over the years but nothing that would make a well rounded stable personality run away, just remember your not here to convince anyone to think like you, at our age it is already too late for that. I hope to chat with you all in the future on a new forum.

Everyone has opinions, we are all adults (well, supposed to be anyway.) I enjoy lively discussions whether people agree with me or not. While I would hate to see that banned, I would prefer the focus to be on MC's.

I usually think very hard before posting a question here, because of some of the childish (IMHO) responses I have seen; however, it didn't take me long to recognize the extreme value of most of the posters here. We can all get our feathers ruffled, we all have bad days, we all have limits that may cause us to say something not so nice, but in the end that's is also true about life in general. Nothing is perfect, especially since "perfect" is different for everyone.

I would like to see politics, religion, and similar subjects in there own area. That way people have a choice if they want to see or comment on it. I have never been a fan of outright "bans" of a subject, but I would have to agree that trying to police those subjects would potentially be time consuming, eat up bandwidth and storage space, and probably cost more than they are worth (additional $$ to post in those areas?) I feel sorry for whoever ends up moderating those sections, talk about a no-win thankless job.

The forum software allows for individual sections that require a second login or verification to access, as well as the option to hide recent posts in that section from the sidebar feed.
I think that's a good balance between 'no bad things' & 'no bad things being stuck in other people's faces'.

I think this is a good alternative. Keep those searching for R* content and visiting to just that. Let those long time members (or those who choose) delve into the "off topics" behind closed doors.
