Photobucket 3 Months ago
|
|
It was only from my scarce time on here, recently, that I found out about photobucket no longer a free service. So I learned from here (over time) how to create a new storage site and how to move pics from there to one of your own posts here.
My question is, how do you transfer your photobucket pics to this new current storage site, and how do you then close out your photobucket acct?
Thank you.

Google photos.com to store them.
Imgur.com to transfer to RSC.

Google photos.com to store them.
Imgur.com to transfer to RSC. Maybe that is the problem for me. I have been transfering photos from google photos thru google url shortner and then to the forum. That could be the reason some could be seeing my photos and some can't and then they disapear

I don't see your picture here.
As for deleting your PB pictures, why?
You're not teaching them a lesson by taking your non-paying business somewhere else.
Some other people did that, and now if there is a PB fix we lose that history.
Plus, it is still a personal backup for you, in case other sites start bombing out too.

That's why I was asking.
I am under the impression our PB pics are no longer accessible, unless we pay for them. Am I mistaken?
Also, some on here said they closed their PB account (in protest). So I was assuming they collected all their PB pics, moved them somewhere else, then closed their account. So I was wondering how they did all that.

Partially mistaken. Your pictures are still there and available for you to access. They are trying to block 3rd party hosting w/o getting paid for it. In that they are partially successful. A fix has been posted for Chrome and Firefox users. Nothing yet for IE or Windows 10 users.
I'm in the process of transferring my pics to Imgur. Photobucket is ad laden and slow. I don't have that problem with Imgur and I can share my pics with all you wonderful people here!!

Again, Photobucket is still another source of having a back up of your pictures, even if you don't share.
You can still access the site with an ad-blocker, so why not have another backup that costs you nothing?
Even if the sites you move to do not go under or do anything silly in the future, you still have a clean back up for any EBKAC.

Maintaining multiple sites is too confusing. Like the McKenzie Brothers, I need something like the 3 days of Christmas!!!
