This dude didn't even take it for a test ride! He had ME ride it around the parking lot so he could see it run, lol. Then I had to ride it to his house to deliver it. (Cash was in my wifes purse in the car behind me with a Glock 19 sitting next to the cash.....) He wanted to know if I could loan him my helmet for the weekend so he could ride it, lol! The strangest sale/purchase I have ever participated in, for sure!

You guys should call him up and mess with him, lol!

LOL So that's the guy you were talking about... Sounds like he either realized he couldn't actually live the dream or thought he could "flip" it. Either way not the brightest bulb in the pack.

"The guys on the Roadstar Forum that I belong to have said that they've gotten 200 miles on some of their bikes."

Was this part of your original ad too? Can't ask for better advertising for the bike or even the forum than that!

I didn't call this douche, but I certainly flagged his ad. You meet some pretty awful folks on craigslist, I'm sorry. That would really piss me off.

So, when you flag an ad, who see's it? I didn't see your flag but when I flagged it, it shows 1 "Hidden Flag". Does just CL get this notice and only them? And after they get so many, they pull his ad?

I can't pull up all the photos, so maybe when copying, he couldn't get everything. I don't know why there's any problem with him trying to flip the bike if he paid for it. I don't like to see someone lying about who did the work on it or who owned it, but the selling is okay. Better than when I sold my Jeep on Ebay and some douche copied all the photos and text and tried to sell it cheap AFTER I had just sold it to someone else. My original purchaser thought it was me trying to screw him.

I wish I had seen that bike when I was in the market. It's beautiful and I think worth much more than the $5,000. original price. As we all know, the add-ons are worth maybe $10,000. to duplicate.

It would seem that Ebay might have given a wider market. What a shame on the depreciation of these bikes.

I initially thought as you did. Truthfully if he was JUST flipping it to make extra money then that would be fine, questionable using the same post due to honesty and morality and all but none the less understandable. But now he is also misrepresenting it as being a year newer and telling history about it that is not true. That says a lot about this guy's character and business practices and you don't want people like this ruining the rep of craigslist.

I have ABSOLUTELY no issue with someone flipping anything, even my bike...... free enterprise. But the guy needs to do his own ad, not straight up plagiarized my ad and post it in my town, lol! I was ok with my sale to him and what he does with it is his own business. However, it looks like he picked up a clue....... check out the ad now!
