Best Sealer For Granite Tiles 3 Years, 3 Months ago
We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen.
Doing the work myself.
We went with 12 x 12 x 3/8 inch granite tiles on the counter tops.
What is the best sealer to use?

You can go to Lowe's or HD and they'll have a suitable sealer. If I'm not mistaken, it's something to be done once or twice a year.

Use a penetrating sealer the first time you do it, versus using a topical. You will know the difference by the price. The penetrating will be twice the price. They now make a daily cleaner that has the sealer in it and that is the easier way to do it now. Any big box or local kitchen showroom and design facility will have it.

If you bought the 12x12 granite tiles sold for flooring at home depot etc then they are already sealed. they come presealed. I did this as well and that sealer is really good, last for a long time. Just get the tile sealer/cleaner to maintain it. Granite and marble sealers are made for one piece counter that are not as polished usually as floor tiles. But the floor tiles work great and are very affordable.

I did indeed buy them from a big box store. They didn't say anything about sealing the tile, I found that info on youtube.
Thanks for the info!

also when you grout use the grout additive from Home depot instead of water to mix the grout, it has a sealer in it so you won't have to seal the grout. I think it is called "grout shield" additive. It is in a small grey plastic bottle. They don't sell it anywhere else other than Home depot. Also make sure you are installing the tile using the proper adhesive/thinset and sub surface. If done wrong everything can crack and pop loose in a very short time.
