Stock jetting 2 Years, 4 Months ago
Can anybody tell me if this is a stock sized jet. I was under the impression that the carb hadn't been touched on my bike. But I may be mistaken.

Yep, that's stock with the big fat stock needle, but don't run that thing with an aftermarket needle. You'll drown it.

OK thanks guys! I'm not changing anything out just cleaning up. She was sitting for a while and when I was able to get her back rolling the carb needed cleaning so I'm doing that. Later I plan on changing up the jets but that's not in the cards tonight

That is just the main jet and not all that is involved with jetting. Your bike may have been jetted using a different procedure that uses extra shims on the stock needle and a change in the pilot jet. If so it can be done properly if the guy knows what he is doing but it will still not produce the same performance and MPG results that can be achieved using a proper jet kit with an adjustable needle.

WARNING DO NOT USE spray carb cleaner as it will cause any rubber parts to swell out of shape and never go back and it will crack any plastic parts including the costing enricher cover. All parts like that must be removed and washed with dawn dish soap and hot water and rinsed. The bare carb body can be soaked in a gallon can of Berryman Carb cleaner and rinsed with cold water after soaking in a rinse of hot water a couple of times.

Lol! Thanks for the heads up Curt. Unfortunately I already cleaned and installed the carb. I did use spray cleaner but because I'm a bit on the cautious side I made sure not to use it on the plastic or rubber parts. So far everything seems to have lined up correctly
