OK so this just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I look up on ebay for theusatrailerstore. I find a fairing for the R*. I ask them what the distance is between the mounting brackets on the inner fairing. They e-mail me back saying 13 5/8"

This is exactly what mine measures. I know what I will do to try and get this to work but I can't help thinking I'm missing something.

BTW even though I have this type of fairing, I did not get it from theusatrailerstore ebay seller.

did you miss the part about its not what they say it is? send it back if you can or fab some brackets to make it work, sorry if i sound harsh but its not meant for a roadstar. mort

I get what you are saying Mort. I'm just trying to make sense of some apparent contradictions.

Just noticed this thread. I have the USATrailer fairing mounted. I will try to get some pics and measurements tonight when I get home. It mounted up fine for me. I had some struggles getting the outer and inner mounted together, but that's mostly because I suck with a wrench.

Mine measures around 14.5. I didn't have to have offset brackets.
