Front Brake Line 6 Years, 7 Months ago
Ok, so I buy the line from the dealer, and its a line that i have to put ends on, screws together. I put them on there and they leak, used new crush gaskets that they gave me, so now I cant get the brakes to work at all on the front, i put the old line back on, and cant get it to pressure up. So I either have to get these bled, or take it up on tuesday and get a service and brake fix. I think that they may have sold me the wrong lines, because i cant get them to quit leaking with the new lines no matter what.

Don't use crush gaskets use the copper flat gaskets, you can get them at ANY auto parts store. Air is trapped inside the lines bleed the brakes as best you can. Once you have done that and can't get any air out take the top off the reservoir and tap the lines and fitting with a screw driver handle. Now put a rag over the reservoir and tie the brake handle tight against the grip and leave it overnight. Next morning put the top on the brake reservoir untie the lever and try the brakes then. They may take a little more bleeding. If the lever is spongy the hold the lever down and rock the bike with the brakes lock like you are trying to roll it back and forth. You will find after a bit the lever is hard and the brakes work good.

Good don't give up and do the lever tie back over night that works great and so does the rocking.

Went to autozone picked up a vacum pump type bleeder, I would suggest this one by the way for anyone thats doing any brake work. Within about an hour of bleeding, I now have brakes, with the stock cable mind you. Im going to take this one back and see if they will order me one thats already made up. These no matter what I did leaked.
