What if you wake up Sunday morning and your wheel is off and there are some tools and a note beside it? Good thing I'm not much of a prankster, haha.
That sure would teach someone quickly. Kind of like just dumping them in the pool to teach them to swim.

It works for me. I have a couple extra carbs I will bring for people to take apart and get comfy with what is inside. I also will bring a bunch of extra bowl screws and jets that may help.
I would suggest that anyone that needs a rejet to make sure they bring a Barons kit with them. If they already have a kit installed but still need a rejet they can contact me with a list of their mods and I will try to advise what jets to bring with them to get the bike running correctly.
Thanks Dave!
Well, we have carbs covered, now lets see what else happens.
And as for the carbs, again trying to be a little more organized and done before midnight..
We might consider picking a specific time that fits in OK.
And then I'm thinking there will be two groups of people to "sign up". Ones to learn from Dave's wisdom and experience, and those that want someone (possible a student) to do some hands on work on their bike.

Would a good in perskn explanation and some notes do it for you, or do you want someone to take off your wheel over the weekend? I've only done it twice, or I'd be comfortable helping you out with that.

Just a verbal explanation while pointing the steps out on the bike would work for me. I just would rather take the wheel off myself if I ever need to for tire mounting purposes and what not. The belt tension thing worries me slightly since I've never done it before.
As far as pranking me and doing it while I slept, that would be a learning lesson for sure! That's actually how I learned to drive stick shift, I bought my first car which was a small truck that was a stick shift. I was going to learn over the weekend slowly how to drive it, but my mom brought it to my work and switched it for hers that I had. If I wanted to get home, I had to learn!

I attended the carb class last year and learned how to change a jet. I was 993% more smarter after the class. Dave did a great job.

If none more betterer get to it, I'd be happy to talk it over with you. You'll find it's not going to be too hard.

Cool, thanks! You're not far from me either so if it doesn't end up getting covered, we can always meet up for a ride or something and figure it out.

I'd like to do that anyway. Our Triple Nickel ride got weathered out last fall and I've had it in my mind since that I'd like to get another little run planned for later this summer. But, yeah, works for me.

Excellent proposal, is the best opportunity for members to learn the possible mods for our RS transmitted by the most experienced and those who want to discuss their experiences and anecdotes to make any repairs or mods.
Good opportunity to recognize teachers, or as we call them around here "Masters".
I live in Mexico, unfortunately I can not attend also have the language barrier, I am an avid voyeur, I learned a lot from all of you here dump their knowledge to help others (including me).
Excellent idea¡¡¡
You CAN do it...

Since I'm bringing a trailer, I can also bring a lift and some basic tools.
Removing the rear tire appears intimidating, but it's not. (As Bofo reminds us, You CAN do it).
Perhaps the solution to me putting a bike in the back of my truck is to disassemble it and have a clinic on Friday night to put it back together (lol - grin).
Short of that, I'd be happy to show anyone how to remove it, perform some minor maintenance (grease it, clean it, and check the brake pads while we're there) and reassemble it (and align the tire and ensure the belt has the proper tension on it).
5 years ago, I was clueless. I can do it in my sleep now. It truly is just a matter of doing once or twice before you become an expert.
This could be a 1/2 hour class. Cost: 1 beverage afterwards.
SO,
Courses so far:
Carbs 101 "It's just a little gas." - Curt/davej
Rear Tire Removal, Install, and Align 101 "Wow, it's really that simple?" - Warden
Brake Fluid Flushing 101 "When 'Stop' means 'Stop" - Warden
Steering Nut 101 "A Cure For Floppiness" - TBD
Anyone want to add anything to the list?
