I'm still following...

You replaced your enrichner cable, but what part of the old cable was bad?
Carb side, handle side, or was the cable no longer moving properly in the sheath?

I have read here about trimming the knob on the enrichner to ensure it is going in all the way, but I don't see a fix that involved replacing the complete cable.

I believe it was fine on the carb side and the pic will show the only problem I found with it. Seemed to work but replacing it proved different.

That's fantastic!!!! I think between the cable and the couple clogs I found in the carb it should be running like a new one now! I don't think the enrichener showed up in the test ride on my bike because I didn't have it in the bracket - it was just tucked underneath so there was zero tension on it, but like I mentioned to you it did look suspect. Either way it's fixed so give your wife her V-Star back and go put some miles on that thing!!!!!

Finally got the starter jet replaced and now it's fixed for sure. Looks like this Might have been the main rich problem even though cable had some to do with it. Reason I say that is now the plugs are beautiful tan. With cable replaced they were showing improvement like I stated before. Here is a picture of the difference. Shamrock was right on either it was a cable or that starter jet. Thanks all and now I can just enjoy the bike.

Mikuni used 2 different starter jets, the early bikes used the 57, and the later ones have the one on the right, which looks to be completely sealed ..yes?, or is there a small hole in it?

How is the cold start now?

Was completely sealed. At first I thought it just had a smaller hole but I put color objects under it and the sun but couldn't see thru it. Took me 15 minutes for me to know for sure cause the way it's tunneled makes it very difficult to tell.

Bike still starts cold with no enricher but it almost sounds like it wants to stall. Crazy but my bike just wants to run I guess and says I'm a warrior that can run on no fuel I guess

Been in the 70s here so will see as the winter rolls in if I need enricher.
