I'm adding the dial a jet for climate change not elevation. I have talk with the inventor as well as did some research. The dial a jet has very little to do with elevation. What it does do is fill in the lean areas, as well as create a finer mist that burns beter than standard carb alone. Many drag bikes use this as well as almost all the land speed bike record holders. Where I live temp could chage 50 degrees in one ride.

I will work on the pic.

Do you have any suggestion about the jets

I am going to do this mod., but also add a dial a jet any suggestion on what jets I should get. The dial jet calls for the carb to be on the Verge of lean.

Hey guys try this site they may have what you need at a good price. I have purchased Yami parts from them and they are cheaper than anyone around here.

did it loved it, i had already moved fuel pump under my tank. the fit of the tank was never quite right after this.this works so much better and was probably easier than moving the pump. runs just as good and i also lost the stutter thanks.

At wits end....

...so to speak.

Did the fuel pump removal. Did the AIS removal. Did the gas cap vent mod.

Used 5/16 fuel line. Used 3/8 fuel inline filter (removed element for testing). Drained tank and cleaned petcock. Removed and cleaned carb twice. Verified I used 2.5 Needle and Seat (checked stamp on side of seat). Removed plastic filter in carb inlet. Reverified float setting. checked and adjusted TPS settings.

Light to moderate acceleration is fine. Heavy to all out acceleration suckes the bowl dry. At this point, if I coast for a few seconds I can accerate lightly again. Top speed (If I accelerate moderately) is 95.

Sunday driving style is fine, but if I was to get on it and go, it sucks (no pun intended).

Thanks in advanced for the help....

By the way, can anyone tell me what should be hooked to the circled item in this picture. There was a piece of vac hose on it, but it was just open to air. The local Yamaha dealer scratched their head and said that they think it is an open air vent. The dealer manual shows it hooking up to a device I donot have (apparently California specific).

Thanks....

Can't think of much more. What do you have for a main jet.

If you unhook the fuel line at the carb, the fuel rushes out, right?

I re-check my float level and, without changing anything else, set it a bit higher and test.

By the way, can anyone tell me what should be hooked to the circled item in this picture. There was a piece of vac hose on it, but it was just open to air. Good dealer. You are correct. It's open to the air.

I have factory carb and intake. BAK and cobra straight slash pipes. The bike was rejetted some time back for the BAK and pipes. With the current config, what would be the recomended carb rejetting? I will pull the carb off and verify what I have and compare to recomendations.

Thanks for the quick response.

My advice is go to the top of this page click on Tech Tips go to the Carb and manifold folder start by reading and doing the WOT test and read the rest and go from there..at the very least see what your settings are so the advice will be accurate...Coug
