HEY GUYS THIS IS MY FIRST TIME RESPONDING BASICALLY BECAUSE I DON,T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT.A WHILE BACK WHEN READIND ABOUT REMOVING THE PUMP I BELIEVE I READ THAT IT WAS NOT INTIRELY NECCESSARY TO PUT IN THE NEW FLOAT NEEDLE VALVE.RIGHT NOW MY ROADIE IS IN PIECES AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO GET IT UP WITHOUT THE ADDITION COST. THINK YOU COULD SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE SUBJECT. I HAVE A HYPER CHARGER INTAKE WITH A DYNA3000 AND THE CARBS HAVE BEEN JETTED FOR THE DYNA BUT NOT FOR THE STRAIGHT PIPES I HAVE ON IT.NO AIS EITHER,HOPE THIS IS ENOUGH INFO. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK THIS BY FAR IS MY FAVORITE WEBSITE I HOPE THIS IS WHERE I WAS SUPOSED TO ASK THE ?.

You can try it without the needle valve but it's a hit or miss whether it will work for you.

As for the carb ...... for the Hyper and pipes I'd recommend you go with the Mikuni 170 main jet, the PMS at 2.5 - 3 turns out, stock main and needle clip at the 5th slot from the top (blund end). Check out the WOT article in the Tech Articles tab at the top of this website for how to test the main.

You can use a Dyna jet kit but start with the 180 main.

Once you have the correct main you can set the needle clip to the 4th slot and test.

Ok I know this is a old post and all. I just read the whole thing, I want to got pumpless Ive gone to the page ....http://www.motogrid.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/1/default.aspxit is a Suzuki part #13370-08F50 where its recomended to buy the part but theres to many to choose from and I read other threds on the subject on here, Of cose the price has gone up a little sence the first post, my question is most say to use a 2.5 and I read a post on dilling out the hole, this is all just a bit confusing. I have a 07 RS stock carb stage 1 kit in it had stage 2 but that thing sucked gas. anyways when you got the the web site witch one do you buy? Thats the only thing Ide like to know.

Thanks for any info.

There's a larger float valve available now. It's 3.0mm and is for the Yamaha 660 Grizzly. Part # 2C6-14190-30-00 the old number is 5KM-14190-30-00

It's made for gravity flow - has side holes like the valves in the HSR carburetors.

I found this valve it cost a lot less the the other $25.00 compared to 45.00++. Does it requirer any drilling or something other then straight forward as the Suzuki part

Nothing special and if it weren't for the holes in the sides and the metal you couldn't tell it apart from the stock part. As a matter of fact the valve needles look exactly the same.

When installing it oil the O'ring and position it so one of the half round sides is under the retaining screw. It'll be obvious when you see it.

Interesting. I am gonna have to try that 3.0 and see what it does. I still have the stock carb with the 2.5 I put in and no fuel pump, but if I open it all out, half way through third the bowl goes dry and I 'run out of gas'. Aside from that I dont have any problems with my current config, but I love to tinker.... Will be cheaper than replacing the carb, which I was entertaining doing for this problem.

Thanks...I will up date when I get thow this this winter. Considering that and a fat tire mod of some kind or another....just not sure....
