Proud brother moment 3 Years, 3 Months ago
The link is of a newspaper article....my brother's retirement from the Army. The ceremony took place on October 28th, his 62nd birthday. Needless to say, I'm very proud of him.... and all who have served.

Wow. That's an impressive story. Chiefs, and especially CW5, are in my opinion, the most respected rank in the Army. Thanks to your brother for his outstanding service.

griby, I salute your brother. He is a leaders leader. The kind that propogates leaders by example. That is the kind of soldier I would gladly follow, to follow his foot steps so I knew that examples he set were the examples of an honorable man !~!! Salute!!!! Kai

Thank you Kai. Just before his first deployment to Iraq in Desert Storm, he had the choice of leading his group to sending someone else to lead his guy's. I do not know how all of that works.... I and my son visited him at Ft Bragg 2 days before they left. We had the honor of spending time with Ralph's "kids"....19/20 yr olds..... They looked up to him and he led them as if they were his own. Until that moment, I had no real idea the man my brother became.

I know that to serve 42 continuous years in service to your country is an honor only reserved for the few. The Army "Needed" your brother. They just don't allow anyone to serve that long!!! That is only reserved for the few!!! and that speaks volumes!!!
