7mm Plug wire ??? 2 Years, 1 Month ago
Trying to find 7mm SOLID COPPER NON-suppression wire.
If I go to an autoparts store and ask for that (or SOLID CORE non-suppression,) I can watch the lights dim behind their eyes.
I looked at the DW-200 from Dynatek (I bought the Dyna coils) but no idea how long the wire is end to end.

Belden (NAPA) shows 7mm "copper core" but I cant get an answer as to the copper wire (SOLID wound or Helical around carbon)

Do any of you guys know PART NUMBERS for the correct wire? (Preferably by the foot, rather than the expensive $30 for 4 ft at Lowbrow)

Local hot rod or high performance shop....or eBay. Stock coils have non removable wires.

The 7mm from NAPA is what you want. It's stranded tin coated copper wire. I used it when I put the electronic ignition and Dyna coil on my XS650. It's not a suppression core.

Not trying to be a pain, but where did you find it saying "non-suppression?" When I talked to NAPA on the phone, the lady said she was not sure.

You probably already know that wire core CAN be suppression, so that is why I am having trouble finding it.

It can be difficult to find suppression core by the foot, and it is generally 8mm or better diameter. I don't know if you can get enough dielectric material around a suppression core and be at 7mm, but I may be wrong.

All I know is, I walked in to NAPA and told them I needed copper core spark plug wire and they had a big spool of the stuff and cut off 6 feet for me.

Being you are in Scotland, you might try a farm/tractor store. They will likely cater to older machines with non-electronic ignitions (and the bulk of the machine) and have what you need.

Looking for NON-suppression, but I am assuming that is what you meant.

Since you actually got some, did it look like the stock stuff internally (just a wad of twisted copper cable)
My NAPA was out of stock (I was BORN in Scotland, but live in California. Not even sure how you new I was Scottish??)

Ultraster, 7mm is dime a dozen on the WEB, but try Non-Suppression and the choices get very slim indeed (or you can't find out Supp or NON.) Even my local Yamaha dealer says they can only get it from Lowboy Customs.

Yes, it looks the same internally as stock. Your profile says Scotland.

Just buy what you need here:
