Hello the Forum.
I recently received permission from my wife, and purchased a new to me 2001 Road Star. The bike has just under 16,000 miles, and although it had some bolt on's, some of those are going to need changed out(bolt on quality leaves to be desired). The bike is the maroon and gold two tone. The bike itself is in good shape. Other then V&H
Longshots(by previous owner(s?), and a K&N filter in the stock air box(I did that), I haven't done anything other then clean it up. I'll post some pics up in a bit.
My last bike was a 95 Springer Soft tail. Sold that bike about 7 years ago. When the Road Star's came on the scene in the late 90's, it was one of the only bikes out there, that made me take a second look.
When I started shopping this time, I stayed with the Road Star's, The Vulcan's, and the Boulevard's. The Road Star still has the same attraction to me that it did when I first saw it, and this one came in under the budget.
I found RSC just before going to see the bike. The various articles gave me things to look for. I've read a lot of the tech stuff now that the bike belongs to me.
It's a great web site. I'll try to be a good addition.
We're in the Florida panhandle. I've bought boat gas(and fried Chicken) at the Local Yokel on Ward Basin Road. I noticed there are several members from this area.
Okay, I'm off to clutter up the neighbor hood. I'll start in the jetting, maintenance, and maybe post something up on the thread the greenguy started yesterday.
