So shores should I start by dropping a size in pilot what's your outtake on this do we have adjustable needles on our roadstar carbs give me a old rack of honda carbs and I'm at home like I've said never had a issue with my roadstar so never had to get into the carb

Get rid of the Hypercharger and put a K/N universal filter (or any k/n style filter) on it and then rejet the carb properly. The hypercharger jetting messes with a couple airjets that will also need to be changed back to the oem jets. There are not many (if any) members that have successfully jetted for an HC. If that isn't in the budget you can start by deactivating the butterfly and leaving them open all the time and the HC will be closer to a real air filter than it is now.

I already have the butterflies disconnected always have just because they are annoying have a k&n in it already getting rid of the hypercharger is out of the question beings I don't have the oem setup so I need to dial the hypercharger in

Has it run rich the whole time?

The stock 40 CV carbs, will compensate just fine for altitude, because of the way they work.

Is the needle and seat(float valve) still original?

A lot of people feel the way Dave does about the Hypercharger. If you treat them like a regular air box and jet the carb normally instead of following the Hypercharger recommendations, you will usually be better off. Some have installed them, followed the directions, and claim no problems. If it was running fine with no rich issues before, I think I'd replace the needle and seat, and then see what happens. Check the jetting, and clip position on the needle while your looking around on the inside.

A universal K/N don't require any of the OEM airbox components and can be purchased for about $50. You can then change the air jets back to stock and rejet the bike properly. The air jet change that is made with the HC is where the problem starts but isn't the only problem with jetting for the HC. If you are trying to use the HC you might be able to change theair jets back to stock size and help your situation a little. The other problem with the HC is that it acts like ram air and the faster you go the leaner it gets so they jet real rich to help compensate for it. I'm not sure what size pilot jet you have but I'm quite sure that reducing it's size isn't your remedy. IMO the only real remedy is to get rid of the HC.

I have changed the needle and seat those are new if I where to drop the needle a notch that would be on my main jet not my idle circuit correct. If I drop a size on my pilot then less fuel at idle I didn't put the hypercharger on it so don't know the whole setup for it

Going Up on the needle clip will lean it so if it is on the 4th groove going to the 3rd groove from the blunt end will lean it. What you are trying to accomplish will be all trial and error. due to the HC jetting. First you don't even know what is in there now and that would help in deciding where to try and go with it. If you want your idle leaner simply turn the PMS in a little at a time. If you try to lean the idle by decreasing the pilot size you will also be messing with the off idle transition and low speed to main transition. If you knew what main jet is in there you might get away with just installing a smaller main jet. Some of the HC kits had a 200 main jet installed along with the air jet change.
