What's it idling at now? Do yo have a means to read the RPM's?
If you're used to the 'Harley lope' @ 7-800 then I see your concern, but it should be up around 900.
The throttle body does have a stop screw on the butterfly shaft, but I've never fooled with it.

Right on. They will sound a bit high when idling properly. Why would you want it to idle low with almost no oil pressure

Don't adjust anything until you put a tach on it. Mine 2008 is dead on 900 RPM. There is a small screw that essentially adjusts the position of the lever that the throttle cable pulls, but I wouldn's mess with it. The ECU knows what to do.

I agree if there is a problem fix the problem not the symptom.

I installed cobra 2-into-1 HP pipes, and a Baron BAK and the performance is awesome. Like a new bike, and I haven't had to do a thing to it.

Like Deerkiller said the Road Star is only closed loop during cruise. The open loop programming is set at the factory - can't change it or remap it. Closed loop is controlled by the O2 sensors.
During open loop any changes to the efficiency of the engine will cause a leaner or richer mixture depending on which way the airflow is changed. Closed lo

quick question, is there supposed to be a vacuum hose attached to the fuel pressure regulator on an 08 roadstar? i cant find any vac line diagrams. thanks Brad

If you're inquiring about the nipple noted, then, no.
The only time the nipple is used is during diagnostics. A vacuum/pressure type hand pump, with a gauge, is attached there to monitor pressure regulator changes and see if they are in spec.

The hand pump #5 attached to the regulator #6 for tests purposes only..

thanks for the reply, im hunting a stumble in the cruise range. it only happens over 50 and in fourth or 5th gear with the throttle steady. give it gas it goes away. i have changed plugs, checked the vac line to the intake, removed the o2 sensors to inspect them and switched places with them.
all of this baffling BS started when the pc3 shutdown on me at walmart. i had to put it back to factory spec in the firelane at 1 am. im hoping that after a few miles itll straighten itself out. kinda figured the o2 sensors had some carbon build up on them since they were unhooked while the pc3 was running the fuel system. the bike runs well in all other ranges, just has this annoying miss/stumble at cruise. the only mods are a set of cobra long drag pipes with the baffles in .

I, along with most others that fooled around with the aftermarket fuel controllers on the Road Star, have shelved them and gone back to the stock setup.
And to think of all the shiny trinkets I could have wasted the money on to adorn my bike with, instead.
