pulley swap 9 Months, 1 Week ago
I'm wanting to go to a 33 front pulley from a 32, all the 33's are for the wide belt, do I need to swap rear pulley also and go to the wider belt? I'm just trying to gear a little higher, most of my miles are long distance highway trips.

No need to change your rear pulley (unless you want to drop to a 65 tooth). The belt will center itself in the front pulley.
Just be sure you have the rear wheel aligned correctly.

+1 I'm running a 1700 rear wheel and pulley with narrow belt on my 1600 that has the wide pulley on the front. I have no issues. Works great !!

I have a 99 but that's even high for mine.I can't hit 5th until at least 60mph otherwise it lugs the motor if you have to give it some throttle. 60mph is only for cruising on a flat surface. But it likes 70-75 cruising speed best. Sounds normal for an early model.

To the best of my knowledge the 1600's have a 33 tooth and the 1700's have a 32. I have a 33 I'll sell someone, I pull a trailer with mine and need to stay with the 32 in this Oklahoma wind.
