ED Big Touring or Standard 2 Years, 4 Months ago
|

Hi all. Looking to possibly finally pull the trigger on a new seat. I am 6-2 230 and have a 2003 Silverado 1600. I hate my current seat and get about 45 minutes of ride time before I have to get off. I also feel like I'm sitting on top of rather in the seat. So I'm looking for a deeper seat pocket but also need all the leg room I can get. I know a lot of you have purchased and love this seat so looking for some guidance on the right seat for me. So is it the Big Tourer or Standard

I'm about your size, and I'm happy with the Big Touring. The Standard, sits you lower, but it will also move you forward. I think they have a trial period, so if it doesn't feel right, you can try the other.
I have a Corbin that sits me lower on one of my bikes, but I have Beach bars on that bike, so the shift forward, isn't that big of a deal. I don't make a lot of long trips on the solo(Corbin) bike either. I think the Touring, is much more comfortable for extended periods, even if it sits me higher on the bike. YMMV.

I'm 6'1" & 215 lbs. & ride the standard. Fits me great & I find the lower sitting position very comfortable. As has been said, try one or the other for the trial period. If it's not for you, send it back & get the other. It's a win-win!

I'm 6'3" 200# and have the standard. I like sitting lower in the bike. If leg room is an issue, you can always extend the floorboards forward.

I'm 6'2", 220, got the big touring and love it - took a couple hundred miles to break in and now the difference over stock is amazing. I have not tried the standard - but I don't have very long legs, wear a 32 inseam, and I wouldn't want to give up an inch of the leg room I have with the big touring seat

6' 270 and I have the big touring recover on the stock pan. Saves about $100 and real easy to do. Very comfy
