Looks like the closest bike HD has to the new Star Eluder is the Road Glide CVO priced "starting at $41,399*".

Pretty sure you could make the Eluder be whatever you need with that extra $17,400 you wouldn't need to drop 'Day Of Sale'.

Holy crap!!! $41k for a road glide? I like the Eluder even more now.

Pretty sure you could buy a second motorcycle with the extra $17,400. A nice brand new one at that

In Canada: Starting at $ 51,799 and remember, the motorcycle is the down payment on accessories!

I like it a lot. I could definitely see getting one in a few years but with only about 15k miles on my f6b its gonna be quite a few years before I'm in the market for another bike. Would probably buy as a second bike and keep my f6b its paid for and not looking to sell for a long time.

I hear some complaints about the price..... Sure you can buy a 10 year old roadstar for $3500 and that's fine but with the new bike you are getting a modernized bike with all the goodies for just over 20k which in my book looking at the touring market is not bad at all. Besides, the roadie being a simple designed cruiser is not even on the same class as the eluder which is a cross country touring bike. To me the pricing is not that far off at all.

To me there's just too much plastic. It looks more like an F6B or a sport touring bike then it does a V-twin tourer.

As I told Kyle earlier in the thread, I will say again to those who are disappointed and desiring a different look, you are being impatient. Yamaha introduced their new Flagship Venture and the brother to that flagship the Eluder. They have a great new base to build several different bikes off of, if you think they are going to leave YOU out of the mix, I am BETTING you are WRONG. No manufacturer releases its "middle of the road"(star) line when they are introducing a new lineup of vehicles, they always start from the top and work their way down.
I have come to HATE this microwave society we live in these days because of the "everyone wants it NOW attitude" that has come from it. Be happy for the lineup they have brought out even if its not your style, they are listening to their customers and they WILL get to you, I am sure of it.

I really like the looks of the Venture, but I'm not a fan of the no-chrome look. Black pipes and everything else doesn't trip my trigger. I'm basically in the touring mode and ride with the wife on back 90+% of the time, so I'm more interested in the Venture than the Eluder. For me, it all comes down to fit. Us guys who are vertically challenged (29" inseam), have issues with the taller and wider bikes. I think the Goldwing is arguably the best long distance touring bike money can buy, as long as it fits you. Harleys have lowered versions of the Electra Glide and Road Glide that help, plus they have a variety of seats and such to get it to fit at least as far as seat height goes. The Harleys seem to have less space front to back for the rider and passenger. I sat on an Indian Roadmaster and it felt like it was made for me. The test drive was great and I loved the handling of it. I will try the new Venture to see if it fits, but at the moment I'm leaning toward an Indian Roadmaster. There's getting to be enough used ones out there now making it possible to not have to pay new prices. That being said, I do have money put aside for a new one if it comes to that.

Well, if they wait too long then they will loose a lot of customers. It was a mistake for them to drop the Roadstar completely. That caused A LOT of customers to go to Victory, Indian, or HD. Now that Victory is gone, that leaves us with only two options. Indian or HD if we want a cruiser that is equivalent to the Roadstar. So if they want to retain their current customers who might be in the market for a new cruiser that isn't like the Venture or Eluder in the next year or two they better get off their asses and make us the bike we want or we will go to the next manufacture that is making it.
