The fuel absorbs more oxygen?
I was under the impression that the 20.5% or so of oxygen in the atmosphere supported combustion, and is generally not "absorbed" but supports the rapid oxidation (fire is just an extremely fast form of oxidation).
I've been using Stabil for a couple of decades with no issues, so the next brand X that comes down the road and "makes more power out of the same fuel and air" which is exactly how I read it, is just a new label on the snake oil bottle. So many companies are trying to capitolize on the scary language being put out there on ethanol. Don't think for a minute that I am pro-ethanol, because it belongs in speedway motorcycles and mini dragsters, and nowhere near my transportation as far as I'm concerned. I use Stabil to stabilize my fuel, and I use Marvel Mystery Oil when my top end needs a clean-up. This stuff, startron, and about 10 other products all claim to be free of alcohol, acids, varnishes and such, and won't hurt your emissions equipment or void your warranty. That pretty much makes them Naptha. Zippo lighter fluid.
