Make sure you have a good ground...sand paper all connections.
Also run direct connection from battery to test horn itself.

If the horn is bad, go to an auto parts store and find a cheap one. Don't matter if it's for a car or bike, they all work the same. You may have to make some kind of mounting bracket for it tho.

You could start here to get an idea of a replacement style that would work. http://www.wolo-mfg.com/elec.htm

Once you find something, you can buy the common ones in most auto part stores, or any of them on Amazon.

I bought some $10 plastic/chrome ones from Harbor Freight that I was able to hide in the side panels of my last bike. They really sounded good.

I'll just toss this out. You may have tried it already.
I ordered a set of used stock horns for my solo bike off of E-bay, and when they arrived, only one worked.
I did what all really clever people do, who have boxes of stuff that don't work ....I took the back off, looked at it, and put the back back on it. I ran the screw in and out a few turns that adjust the tone???, and for once, this method of creating more junk, actually worked. Imagine my surprise.

They have a pill to fix your wife's "non-working" horn. I think there was a thread recently about it...something about Irish folks at Starbucks.
