When mine kicks back on a compression stroke after shut down it engages the one way bearing in the starter clutch and spins the starter backwards for a sec.
Doesn't hurt any thing.
Yeah, I think mine does the same thing about 30% of the time....it's actually pretty funny sounding, like a cartoon ricochet sound
It's made for some funny arrivals when taking a break on family road trips: "here comes Mike on the Yamaha roaring in, parks next to Eric's Road King, patutty pattuty, click, putter, putt, put, put, basiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnggggggggg." "I'm here!!!"
