I have metzler 880's, I like them a lot.

When you clean your white wall, put some vegi oil on a rag and wipe them down with a thin coating on the tire, it will keep them whiter longer!

If I ever put whites back on and Michelin still does not make one, I would go with Avons, or the 880s.

I'm on my last Shinko 777 WWW front tire, the rear was good when new but didn't last me very long and was gone at a little over 2k, now on my second front Shinko and just back from a 1400 mile trip and the front is scalloped pretty bad (tire has 4800) and it didn't do it till this trip but the bike was heavy-laden with two up luggage and full saddlebags. I love the way the WWW's look on my bike but my next front will be the same as the rear a Michelin Commander II. I have run the ME 880's and the Cruisemax's and was happy with both and they got around the same mileage, the bike had Conti Milestone's on it when I bought it and although they were half gone they rode nice also but I can't say anything on mileage of those tires. I will note that I live in the mountains and that is hard on tires so others are getting much better mileage than I do.
