Stock Exhaust system 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
how quiet is the stock exhaust system for these Roadstars? Mines a 2003 Silver Series with a Cobra exhaust that for me is just a little too loud. I made my own "quiet core" type of baffles for them but still on the loud side. I found a set of stock pipes and I'm really trying hard to get them, as long as my "financial advisor" says I can. So while I'm waiting for an answer, I figured I'd ask you all out there who might have a stock system on or has ridden one with it to please let me know how it sounds.

Before you go and buy a set of OEM exhaust start a thread to ask if anyone here has a set. I'm sure someone has a set you could get for the shipping cost. Also when changing back to stock exhaust from an aftermarket set you will have to change your carb jetting to work with the stock exhaust.

Don't spend too much on them. A lot of guys will give them up for next to nothing.

Gutted cans can sometimes make the bike difficult to tune due to the absence of back pressure.

I agree totally, but stage 3 isn’t totally gutted is it?

I have a set already drilled out stage 2. They can be yours for cheap, if we can work out a time and place to close down the 100 miles between us.

I use a set Stage 3 on one of mine. It sounds just fine. Relatively low and deep rumble. There's almost nothing left inside of the cans when you go Stage 3. Best sound you can possibly get for the money!
