GASKET part number is: 214-11198-01-00 boats.net has them for $1.60

The drain plug part number is: 90340-14132-00 in case you need one of those.

Only reason I know is that I just ordered them last week!

Thanks! I'm assuming that both the cc drain plug and the oil tank drain plug use the same gasket?

Yes and same plug/bolt.

I use copper crush washers in get of Amazon cheap....they work and don't leak. Mobil 1 V twin is fine oil....ditch the Fram filter and try a Wix/Napa.... WIX 51358 or same filter from NAPA 1538 (Gold).

You guys are scaring me. 66000 miles and about a dozen oil changes and I've never changed the crush washer.

My crush washer fell into the oil pan a few years ago and I didn't replace it....no leaks!

I was a Bosch filter man. Then, I heard about a leak issue with them, due to their changing the design of it... and sure enough, one of my 3 R*s is leaking oil at the filter. I'm switching. I know that Wix is one very fine filter. Or, at least it was.

Years ago, Consumer Reports did a test of oil filters, and I recall that Wix was the best at that time, but, I'm telling you... that was a real long ways back... in the 80's???

absolutely right about the filter..fram filters are crap..i use mobil 1 filters (m-110 i believe?) with the v-twin oil... cost 10 bucks but the filter is critical..wix and napa gold are also an excellent choice..im paying top dollar for the oil..its worth 10 bucks to keep it clean..

I have a Scotts Racing washable oil filter....pricey to begin with but every time I've changed my oil over the last 12 years I've been making money. I highly recommend them.
Been using Mobil 1 since day one and zero issues. Oh and never have changed the crush washer. I have no clue why they put them in other than to keep idiots from running the plug up too tight.

I've never swapped out a copper crush washer, but I've always wrapped the plug threads with Teflon plumbers tape, and it seals well without having to put much torque on the drain plug, so the washer doesn't get all that crushed. If I ever saw that it was getting crushed thin... I'd definitely swap it out though.

The only time I ever had an oil leak was when I used the washers. Threw them away 6 years ago, not a drop since.

Also don't forget to read how to change the oil properly, it's not hard, but different than anything else.
