UPDATE: i got both oem and rick's brush kit real quick, the ricks hot brush spreader plate was steel, came with new bolt, plastic insulators, phenolic washers, oring, so i used it, due to history of brass cracking on the OEM. one caveat, the ricks plastic insulators were "off" by 1 mm
, so i had to 220 sand it down so the hot bolt would go thru starter housing dead center in the hole to prevent arcing, the brushes were the same size, 6mm thick. looked like a decent part. ill keep the OEM in my saddlebags, along with hex
tools just in case.
