No need to cut off the plug. Just make a simple single wire jumper that commects to the two terminals in the plug. Then unwrap the wires from the harness and tuck them away somewhere so you can hook them back up when you realize you made a mistake and almost dumped the bike when you started it in gear or drove off with the kickstand down.

I went down on my old BSA 650 chopper when I went into the first left handed corner after leaving the house with a hottie on the back because of a forgotten kickstand. I did not impress. I kind of like the safety switches now

They Key word in these switches is SAFETY... Unless you are building a show queen; WHY would you risk YOUR SAFETY over a couple of wires ???

I'll answer that one... I have a visceral hatred for safety-Nazis always trying to save me from myself! I love simplicity, and I PREFER to start my bike with the clutch handle OUT, and the transmission in neutral.

Hence, I have NO neutral safety switches, or kickstand up safety switches either.

Okay... I like living my life in the FAST lane!

I had read some saying by wiring the wires together and making the bike think it was in neutral could cause the ecu to deliver fuel differently causing performance issues and popping. Some were saying just unplug it and tuck it away while others say wire the two wires together. Just trying to figure this out

This is true. If you have a fuel injected bike and wire the clutch switch wires together, the bike will always think the clutch is in and will never give more than idle fuel. It will sputter, run hot and like shit until you unhook the wires. I tried this when I did my apes, and this was my result (08 FI). Ended up having to pull the 2 wires apart and capping them in the headlight bucket, meaning I had to have it in neutral to start it.
