Cars too but they have to meet emissions tests bikes don't all they need is brakes, stop light, head light, and you can have turn signals but don't think you have to. It's called a safety inspection $40 for cars $12 for bikes.

Wow. Here is WA we have zero regular inspections. Just emissions every other year or so. And bikes are excluded as well.

Surprisingly, here in Illinois,
the land of 10% sales tax, $400 carry permits, FOID cards, city stickers, $100 a year plates, dead voters, useless car inspections and governors that go straight to jail..

..they don't mess with the bikes. Get a plate and you're done, no inspections.

(I hope they don't read this...)

I think motorcycles should get a break on tax and tags / inspections. They're more environmentally friendly than cars, and certainly don't tear up the road surface like a car or truck.

+1 Call your state legislator. Drop this on him, who knows he may even be a biker.

I spoke with an insurance adjuster as well, if the bike was laid down and the paint on the frame was scraped it will most likely be totaled, again due to the ins. company not wanting to replace the frame. There really isnt anything different about it other than the paperwork says its "Salvage" and that usually brings a lower price. Good luck on getting it

Re:Rebuilt Titles 4 Years, 1 Month ago
In 2000' i bought a 1999 vstar 650 custom. It was an insurance total,i had to replace the front wheel ring(the spokes and hub were fine),had to replace the right side foot peg mount and the exhaust. The paint was great but it did have a dent on the top of the tank,i pulled it out with a "dent king" from wally world, and the handlebars were slightly bent.I did all my own labor,i paid 1200 for the bike,it had about 2000mi.on it.I put about $425 dollars into it in parts, rode it for about 18 months and sold it for $3300
